BIOGRAPHY

Jeanne Becker’s successful musical career formed in Denver, Colorado where she was the manager and lead singer for the Jeanne Becker Band performing regularly at the best Denver jazz clubs, nightclubs, and private engagements.

Ms. Becker - and her rare and rich sound, now in Chicago, - leads a superb jazz ensemble.  Her Chicago venues include the London House downtown, Atwood Cafe, the Drunken Bean in Lakeshore East, Hey Nonny in Arlington Heights, Pops for Champagne, Fairmont Hotel’s Metropole Room, Plaza Tavern, Green Dolphin Street, the 95th Club, Gold Star Sardine Bar, University Club of Chicago, Mid America Club, Ditka’s, Kuklas, Hotel Sofitel O'Hare, Eddie Merlot's (Burr Ridge and Lincolnshire), Perry's in Oak Brook, Del Rio in Highwood. and many private social events.  Recently, Ms. Becker has been performing regularly at Chicagoland libraries including Wilmette Public Library, Skokie Public Library, Fremont Public Library, Vernon Area Public Library, and Cook Memorial Public Library District, Morton Grove Public Library, Grayslake Area Public Library and Northbrook Public Library.

 

Jeanne's appealing style and wide repertoire developed from a variety of influences including jazz, swing, blues, and Latin sounds.  Her sensuous voice has been described as, "it feels and sounds like velvet."
